"My experience has been outstanding in all areas. The firm has assembled a team of best-in-class lawyers, each of whom is extremely skilled in his or her field. They cover a broad array of my commercial needs and billing transparency is excellent, fair and linear to its value."

- CHAMBERS USA source

Bilzin Sumberg has one of the most dynamic and successful litigation departments in both South Florida and the country. With a tight-knit team of attorneys dedicated exclusively to litigation, Bilzin Sumberg’s litigation attorneys have the experience, resources and determination to protect and champion their clients' interests in every facet of litigation. In recognition of its success, the Litigation Group is listed in Chambers USA’s “The Elite in Florida”, the most selective grouping of Florida firms in the publication’s General Commercial Litigation category. The group has also been shortlisted among Benchmark Litigation's top-ranked Florida firms for ten consecutive years, winning the coveted “Florida Litigation Firm of the Year” award in five of those years. In 2020, Daily Business Review awarded the group "Litigation Department of the Year.”

Bilzin Sumberg's litigation team has substantial trial experience, having tried hundreds of cases to verdict. Unlike other large commercial law firms, our lawyers repeatedly and routinely try cases in federal and state court in Florida and throughout the country, as well as before arbitrators nationwide.

Our litigators handle a broad spectrum of matters including complex domestic and international contractual disputes, securities and antitrust, mortgage repurchase demands, large scale real property and foreclosure disputes, class actions, and insurance.

Our trial results are only one area in which we measure our success. We believe that safeguarding our clients’ business interests requires innovative problem solving and litigation approaches, the support of a deep multi-disciplinary team and an ongoing focus on delivering sophisticated high-level strategic advice. We work closely with our clients and their in-house counsel to develop and implement a collaborative strategy that serves our clients' best interests.

Our successes do not preclude or supplant our deep understanding in conflict resolution as a pretrial strategy. Our creativity at mediation, deftness at arbitration and commitment to alternative dispute resolution often yields positive outcomes without the expense of a trial.

e-Discovery

The increasing costs and complexity of litigation make successfully navigating the world of electronic information imperative to the successful resolution of litigation. Bilzin Sumberg's e-Discovery expertise help clients manage the demands of producing and searching for electronic information. We understand that e-Discovery is not “one size fits all” and we tailor e-Discovery plans to meet the goals of each individual client and case. Our e-Discovery practice is managed by experienced attorneys and encompasses all aspects of e-Discovery services, including processes for pre-litigation and advanced document review services. Implementing an e-Discovery strategy pre-litigation is critical and provides significant cost savings and enhanced efficiency. We provide counsel to our clients on best practices for collecting, maintaining, preserving, and producing electronic information with minimal interruption to business activities. We also use our extensive experience to develop targeted plans for gathering electronic information from opposing parties, focusing on information that will be critical for trial rather than the “kitchen sink.”
