Chambers USA acknowledges the Construction Group as, "a collection of immensely talented lawyers, capable of handling any kind of matter." Another Chambers commentator remarks, "They get it - they understand how to litigate technically and know how the entire process works on an integrated level so that problem-solving on multiple levels can occur."

Bilzin Sumberg represents owners and developers in all phases of real estate development, from site acquisition to the conclusion of the warranty period for the finished project, to turnover. The Construction Group also provides counsel regarding a wide variety of construction related risk management, litigation, dispute resolution issues, and construction financing.

Our extensive experience in negotiating and drafting design and construction agreements helps to prevent disputes regarding the expectations of the parties. Following completion and disposition of the project, we assist our clients in resolving warranty and latent defect claims. At turnover, we defend developers on homeowner and condominium association claims based on construction defects, failure to deliver a project per the plans and specifications and accounting claims involving deficit funding.

The Construction Group brings an extraordinary track record of success representing clients in disputes arising from design and construction agreements, including construction defect and delay claims, surety bonds, insurance coverage, construction liens and warranty claims. The Team has extensive experience litigating complex construction disputes in federal and state courts, as well as in mediation and arbitration.

Collaborating with our Real Estate, Land Development & Government Relations, and Public-Private Partnerships Groups, the Construction Group's depth offers our clients access to a wider range of complementary practice areas such as land use and zoning, government contracting, environmental, real estate acquisitions and disposition, and real estate finance, among others.
