Q & A
How does your involvement in industry associations shape your counsel?
For many years, I’ve been engaged in various committees and organizations that are at the forefront of sports, entertainment, media, and intellectual property law. This includes the Entertainment Law Committee and the Sports Law Committee of the New York City Bar Association, the New York Intellectual Property Law Association, and the International Trademark Association, among others. I am also involved in similar bodies in Florida, where the sports and media industries are growing rapidly. Through my involvement in these organizations, I am constantly on top of the most critical issues and developments affecting my clients when it comes to intellectual property, libel, disparagement and other media and IP-related disputes.
What makes you stand out as an attorney focused on intellectual property disputes?
After decades of working at the forefront of media and intellectual property disputes involving some of the largest companies and household names, I’ve developed deep relationships with in-house counsel across various industries. I therefore understand the myriad issues that corporate legal departments contend with when approaching a dispute that involves their intellectual property, reputations, and brands. Clients appreciate my ability to readily understand their business environments and what is at stake in my strategic counsel to them.
