Q & A
Looking at the industries with which you work, have any of them experienced a seismic shift that demonstrates the importance of your practice?
Many of my clients are in the life sciences industry, which includes everything from pharmaceuticals, medical devices and diagnostic tests, to cutting-edge biotech. The COVID-19 pandemic handed this industry a challenge that tested its ability to instantaneously pivot to addressing a critical demand. The overnight switch in research and development, clinical trials, manufacturing and commercialization in terms of business models, product lines, and logistics required extraordinary heavy lifting from corporate attorneys who were working on the legal backend and strategically advising clients to facilitate such a massive operational shift for this industry.
There has been a significant uptick in business and wealth relocation to South Florida over the last several years. What has struck you the most about this wave of migration?
People are making Florida their primary residence and bringing their businesses with them. In addition, much of the recent business migration is being driven by the tech sector. We have emerging businesses and established giants setting up permanent offices in South Florida, and they're bringing in a vibrant, diverse and highly skilled workforce.
