Bringing with him a robust familiarity for working alongside city staff and public officials as both an Assistant City Attorney and as private counsel to various municipalities, Nick represents property owners and developers in helping them to navigate state and local land use and zoning laws and achieve their development goals. His prior experience includes serving as a board attorney to several municipal advisory boards and development review committees, experience he now uses to the benefit of his clients. His practice includes representing clients in pre-acquisition due diligence and seeking development approvals and entitlements for residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects across South Florida.

Q & A

How has your experience working as an Assistant City Attorney helped your practice?

When I served as Assistant City Attorney, I was able to see first-hand how local officials approach new developments in their respective jurisdictions. When it comes to real estate development, relationships are key for understanding what can get done practically beyond what is strictly allowed in a land development code. My current representation involves understanding local government decision-makers on behalf of clients, and my time as a local government lawyer has been instrumental for my effectiveness in achieving results for the firm’s clients in that arena.

Where do you see exciting opportunities for growth in the South Florida real estate market?

I think Broward and Palm Beach Counties are primed for exciting projects in the coming years. For example, over the past several years, high-end, blue chip developers have undertaken groundbreaking luxury multi-family and condo projects across Broward County. The rents and condo prices they are able to achieve would have been unthinkable just a few years ago. As South Florida continues to be a key destination for people around the world to live and work, I think this trend will continue and there will be tremendous development opportunities across the tri-county area, particularly in Broward and Palm Beach Counties.
