Increasingly, issues involving data security for owners and contractors have come to the fore as the rise of "smart systems" for everything from lighting and telecommunications or home Wi-Fi and other utilities creates potential areas of legal exposure for the providers of such products and services - especially as to storage of personal data. Phil discussed how to navigate these complex data privacy issues by being proactive about data security, insisting on Cloud-based project management platforms, and having privacy policies.
