Phil Stein presented on Data Privacy and Cyberthreats for the Home Building Industry at the National Association of Home Builders International Builders Show. Increasingly, issues involving data security for owners and contractors have come to the fore as the rise of "smart systems" for everything from lighting and telecommunications or home Wi-Fi and other utilities creates potential areas of legal exposure for the providers of such products and services - especially as to storage of personal data. Phil discussed how to navigate these complex data privacy issues by being proactive about data security, insisting on Cloud-based project management platforms, and having privacy policies.
