Attorneys Recognized by The South Florida Business Journal as "Heavy Hitters In Commercial Real Estate"
MIAMI, FL – Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod LLP is proud to announce that three of its partners were recognized by the South Florida Business Journal (SFBJ) as "Heavy Hitters in Commercial Real Estate."
Suzanne Amaducci, Real Estate partner and Chair of the firm's Hospitality Group, Jon Chassen, Real Estate partner, and Albert E. Dotson, Jr., Government Relations & Land Development Practice Group Leader, were recognized among 100 individuals in various sectors of commercial real estate who had an impact on the industry in 2012 by helping to "get South Florida's real estate engine humming again."
Amaducci represented Total Bank in the origination of a $50 million loan secured by the Grand Beach Hotel in Miami Beach, one of the largest loans ever made by the bank. Over the last five years, she has completed more than $3 billion of debt restructuring on behalf of lenders and borrowers, most of which has been secured by hospitality-related assets.
Chassen served as counsel to 2377 Collins Resort, L.P., a venture created by Starwood Capital, The LeFrak Organization and Investco Real Estate, in connection with the $400 million acquisition and subsequent major renovation of the Perry Hotel South Beach, formerly known as the Gansevoort Miami Beach. The property, which contains almost two million square feet of building space, will be re-opened under the luxury, eco-friendly 1 Hotel & Residences brand in early 2014.
Dotson represents SBACE, one of two finalists in the bid to upgrade the 52-acre Miami Beach Convention Center District. In addition to redeveloping the convention center, the $1 billion project includes a hotel, outdoor public spaces, parking, restaurants, entertainment, retail, and other commercial and residential uses. The SBACE team includes Tishman Hotel & Realty, UIA Management, and the Office of Metropolitan Architecture, led by Dan Tishman, Robert Wennett, and Rem Koolhaas.
