Bilzin Sumberg Cares Project Day Held at Scott Lake Elementary School

MIAMI, FL – On February 20, as part of the Bilzin Sumberg Cares community involvement initiative, Bilzin Sumberg partnered with Scott Lake Elementary, a Montessori magnet school with a speech and language special education program located in Miami Gardens.
On Saturday morning, Bilzin Sumberg attorneys, staff and families gathered at the school with paintbrushes, gardening tools and smiles for Bilzin Sumberg Cares Project Day. This is the firm's ninth Project Day, an annual event in which the firm partners with a local organization for a day of philanthropic outreach. Bilzin Sumberg employees and their families assisted with painting murals, building new seating throughout the school, planting in the gardens, and revamping the basketball court.
"We had over 100 volunteers come out on Saturday morning which speaks volumes to our Firm's culture and each person's dedication to the program. Bilzin Sumberg Cares is a true reflection of who we are; our volunteers seek to make a positive impact in the lives of others," said Marshall R. Pasternack, a Partner in the Corporate Group and Chair of the Bilzin Sumberg Cares community initiative.
The vision of Scott Lake Elementary is to utilize a high standard of excellence and work cooperatively to implement instructional strategies to increase student achievement and provide a safe and nurturing environment. The school's goal is to work in collaborative partnerships with all stakeholders, including parents, business liaisons, and community partners to create an environment where students are empowered to discover their strengths and to achieve their maximum potential through multiple exposures to rigorous standards based curriculum. Scott Lake Elementary is a place where all students are encouraged to strive for excellence academically, socially, and emotionally in a safe and supportive atmosphere.
