Boards of Friends of WLRN, Chapman Partnership Appoint Jose Sariego
Bilzin Sumberg is pleased to announce Jose Sariego, a Partner in the Corporate Group, has recently been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Friends of WLRN and to the Board of Trustees of the Chapman Partnership.
Jose is an international media, entertainment, and transactional lawyer with extensive industry experience, including serving as General Counsel of HBO Latin America and head of Business & Legal Affairs for Telemundo Network. Fluent in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese, Jose regularly handles transactions both in the U.S. and globally for domestic and international clients. He has negotiated and closed numerous multimillion-dollar domestic and international deals involving content development, acquisition, production, licensing, and distribution, as well as above-the-line talent agreements.
Friends of WLRN is the fundraising and business development arm of WLRN, the public radio and television station in South Florida. Jose's four-year term began December 2016.

The Chapman Partnership provides comprehensive services to help homeless residents of Miami-Dade County become self-sufficient. The Chapman Partnership operates two homeless assistance centers with 800 beds in Miami and Homestead. The two centers serve 5,000 men, women, and children every year. Jose's term on the Board begins February 2017. Jose has helped feed people in transition at the Miami center for the past five years.
Jose is Alumni Board President for the University of Florida Center for Latin American Studies and an Advisory Board Member for the University of Miami School of Law LL.M. Program for Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law. He previously held volunteer leadership positions with the Association of Public Corporations, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, and the United Way of Miami-Dade.
