Brian Adler and Howard Nelson Recognized by Builders Association of South Florida

Miami, FL – Bilzin Sumberg is proud to announce that the Builders Association of South Florida (BASF), the local affiliate of the National Association of Home Builders, has awarded Brian S. Adler and Howard E. Nelson with the President's Award and the Legislative Leadership Award, respectively. These prestigious accolades reflect the attorneys' dedication and service to BASF.

Brian S. Adler's is a partner in the firm's Land Development and Government Relations Practice Group. His experience includes representing developers and contractors in the permitting, platting, zoning, comprehensive planning and development processes, from application inception to representation at hearing. Brian is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Miami School of Law Master's Program (LLM), where he teaches a planning and zoning course in the Real Property Development program.

Howard E. Nelson, Chair of the Environmental Practice Group, has more than 25 years of experience in environmental law and land development. He represents clients throughout all phases of the development process from site location through permitting and construction, as well as in permit appeals and defense of environmental enforcement matters. Prior to entering private practice, Howard served as a regional planner for both the South Florida and Treasure Coast Regional Planning Councils.

Established in 1944, BASF is the result of more than 70 years of combined service to the building-trade association field in South Florida. The organization has a reputation for excellence in government affairs and has represented South Florida’s building industry by maintaining high standards in building through service to its membership and the general public. The BASF Board of Directors is a panel of industry professionals serving voluntarily with the responsibility of setting the mission and directing senior staff to implement the goals and objectives of the South Florida organization.
