Successfully Obtained Expansion Rights for Private High School in Miami

Our Lady of Lourdes High School

Representation of Our Lady of Lourdes Academy, the only all-female high school operated by the Archdiocese of Greater Miami. For almost 17 years, the Academy attempted to get approval for a school expansion. We succeeded in obtaining the required zoning approval. Located in a predominantly single family community, the Academy faced opposition from neighbors concerned with increased traffic and noise. Using traffic consultants and land use planners, we successfully argued that the neighbors' fears were not well-founded and received a unanimous vote of the local zoning board. This matter took several years to resolve and included defending a legal challenge in the trial and appellate courts by neighboring property owners.
