Representation of real estate developer Terra in connection with a comprehensive proposed redevelopment of 18.5 acres owned by the City of Miami on Watson Island, currently leased to the operator of the Jungle Island eco-adventure park. The project involves the $135 million sale to client of a 5.4-acre portion of the site for a private residential condominium development with approximately 600 units, up to 25,000 square feet of retail, and structured parking, as well as the development of a new 13-acre public park. Representation includes the negotiation of conveyance and development agreements with the City of Miami and State of Florida, and counsel in connection with the City’s applicable referendum process. The project was approved by a majority of City voters in November 2024, and the conveyance and development agreements were approved by the City Commission in July 2025.
