Bilzin Sumberg Launches Bilzin Sumberg Cares Community Initiative With Firm Service Day

Press Release
September 7, 2007

Miami, Florida, September 7, 2007 - Today the law firm of Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod LLP announced the September 15th launch of their new community outreach initiative, Bilzin Sumberg Cares.  The employee-based community involvement program, the first and only of its kind to be organized by a South Florida law firm, is designed in part to provide year-round support for one local organization chosen annually. With its unique, whole-year approach, Bilzin Sumberg Cares has the capacity to affect real change in the lives of deserving individuals, while allowing the firm's staff and their families to develop a lasting bond with the South Florida community and those they help. Marshall R. Pasternack, a Partner in Bilzin Sumberg's Corporate & Securities Group, chairs the Bilzin Sumberg Cares program.

This year, Bilzin Sumberg Cares has partnered with the Southside Elementary Museums Magnet School, located near Miami's financial district. Southside, a Miami Dade public school originally built in 1925, serves pre-kindergarten to fifth grade students from the Downtown area with an emphasis on cultural education. On Saturday, September 15, 2007, the employees of Bilzin Sumberg will gather at the school for a highly anticipated service day.

In developing Bilzin Sumberg Cares, the firm partnered with Hands on Miami, a nonprofit group that engages volunteers to meet community needs including feeding the homeless, providing companions to the elderly and building low income housing.
