2012 Keymorada Invitational Fly-Spin Tournament Surpasses Fundraising Goal
Miami - The 2012 Sabadell United Keymorada Invitational Fly-Spin Tournament benefitting the Crohns & Colitis Foundation of America surpassed its 2012 fundraising goal, raising over $476,000. More than three million dollars has been raised since the fishing tournaments inception eight years ago.
Held on May 8 through 11 in Islamorada, Fla., this years event attracted more than 150 participants and secured more than 125 sponsors, making it one of the most successful fundraising events in Florida and among the most popular fishing tournaments in the country.
According to Tournament co-founders Mitchell Widom, partner at Bilzin Sumberg, and Glenn Widom of Glenn L. Widom, P.A., a prime factor that makes the event so unique is the overwhelming support it receives from the legal community. More than 200 law firms throughout South Florida participate annually in the event, along with other professional services firms and major corporations.
Along with its numerous sponsors and participants, hundreds of law firms throughout the country participate each year in this event to raise awareness of Crohns Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, said Mitchell. These firms, that usually go head-to-head in the courtroom, have found common ground in the battle against these debilitating diseases.
