Bilzin Sumberg to Compete in United Way Dodgeball Tournament
Miami, FL – On March 13, Bilzin Sumberg attorneys and staff will square off against three other South Florida law firms in a dodgeball tournament to raise funds for the United Way of Miami-Dade.
Bilzin Sumberg will vie for the title of Dodgeball Champion 2013, alongside Akerman Senterfitt, Carlton Fields and Greenberg Traurig at 5:30 p.m. at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami. Entry fees paid by participants and supporters will be donated to United Way. The Bilzin Sumberg Dodge Squad believes their "secret weapon" will be the key to victory.
“We are excited to come together with other firms with the larger goal of raising funds for United Way,” said Albert E. Dotson, Jr., Government Relations & Land Development partner and Coach of the Bilzin Sumberg Dodge Squad. “It is our hope that this tournament will become an annual community event and we hope to further expand the initiative’s reach next year.”
Bilzin Sumberg's participation in the tournament is part of Bilzin Sumberg Cares, the firm's community involvement program that provides the Bilzin Sumberg community with volunteer opportunities to work together to benefit charitable organizations in South Florida and beyond.
Now in its fifth year, Bilzin Sumberg Cares has partnered with organizations including United Way of Miami-Dade, Voices for Children Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America and numerous other non-profit organizations. This year’s projects have included landscaping and painting murals at Norwood Elementary school in Miami Gardens, assisting athletes in the Miami-Dade County Special Olympics, holding book drives for Goodwill Industries and Norwood Elementary, and collecting baby supplies for homeless mothers at the Lotus House Women’s Shelter.
