Bilzin Sumberg Heads to Homestead for Home Construction
MIAMI, FL – On April 12, as part of the Bilzin Sumberg Cares community involvement initiative, Bilzin Sumberg partnered with the Centro Campesino Farmworker Center, Inc., located near Homestead, FL, to assist the organization in their mission to provide suitable housing conditions for migrant and seasonal farmworkers and other low-income families in South Florida.
On Saturday morning, Bilzin Sumberg attorneys, staff and families gathered at the Center's headquarters with paintbrushes, tools and smiles for Bilzin Sumberg Cares Project Day. This is the firm's eighth Project Day, an annual event in which the firm partners with a local charitable organization for a day of philanthropic outreach.
Law firm employees and their families assisted with fence construction, painting interior and exterior spaces and assembling furniture. Some volunteers also participated in arts and crafts with the children, making cards for the Center's retired residents.
"We had 90 volunteers show up on Saturday morning which is a tremendous turnout. Bilzin Sumberg is proud to be doing something in our community that makes such a difference in the lives of others," said Marshall R. Pasternack, a Partner in the Corporate & Tax group and Chair of the firm's community initiatives.
Also in attendance was Florida City Mayor Otis T. Wallace, who saluted Bilzin Sumberg's efforts to give back to their community.
