Q & A
What kind of challenges at work get you most excited?
I am fortunate to work in areas of the law that are constantly changing, so I have the opportunity to stay in the forefront of developing law. I often go to bed and wake up thinking about new strategies and arguments and look forward to coming to the office every day.
Why should a client hire you?
In our business, results matter. And, we have obtained results in some of the biggest cases in the country that have dramatically exceeded what other lawyers have achieved in exactly the same cases.
What is one way you give back to the community?
My wife, Dana, and I are founders of the Jennifer Beth Turken Heart Award Program, which recognizes students for their kindness, caring, and sensitivity. We have implemented the Program in eight South Florida elementary and middle schools, and are expanding it every year. We have monthly ice cream parties for each grade winner and his or her class, during which all winners and nominees are recognized. At the end of the year, we have a celebration for each school attended by Miami-Dade County school officials and political and community leaders. One winner from each grade has his or her name engraved on a plaque permanently maintained at each school and receives a bicycle and helmet purchased just for them.

When Dana and I started our Program, we hoped it would encourage students simply to develop into nicer, more caring and compassionate young people. To our family's delight, it has become one of the most successful behavioral transformation and anti-bullying programs in the country.
