Rodriguez provided a brief review of Florida’s Construction Defect Statute (Chapter 558), and addressed the most common construction defects observed in today’s development market, at Bilzin Sumberg’s South Florida Redevelopment Conference. Panelists from the business, engineering, and legal sectors then discussed the effectiveness of different strategies to prevent such defects - or to mitigate losses stemming from them. The panelists shared their insights on how to avoid the specter of costly disputes related to construction defects in local development projects.
