Press Release
December 26, 2017

Miami, FL – Bilzin Sumberg is pleased to announce that Land Development & Government Relations attorney Anthony De Yurre has been elected to the Firm's partnership, effective January 1, 2018.

"We are delighted to welcome Anthony to our partnership," said Bilzin Sumberg Managing Partner John C. Sumberg. "He possesses strong legal aptitude and deep-rooted relationships with clients. We look forward to his continued success at the Firm."

Anthony's practice focuses on the representation of real estate developers and investors with an emphasis on land use, zoning, and governmental relations. His breadth of experience uniquely positions him to assist his clients whether they are buying, zoning, or developing a property.

This year, despite a tightening lending market, Anthony successfully helped secure $335 million in construction and mezzanine financing for Paramount Miami Worldcenter, the $650 million luxury condominium development at the centerpiece of the larger $2 billion Miami Worldcenter. In addition, he helped guide client GMexico Transportes, the transportation arm of Mexico-based mining company, Grupo Mexico, in their $2.1 billion acquisition of Florida East Coast Railway.

In recognition of closing these prominent deals he was named a Most Effective Lawyer by the Daily Business Review in two separate categories, Real Estate and International. In 2017, he was also recognized as a Florida Rising Star by Florida Super Lawyers and as a "Top Lawyer Under 40" by The Hispanic National Bar Association.

An active member in the community, Anthony serves as an adjunct professor and Advisory Committee Member for the University of Miami School of Law Masters in Real Property Development, as well as a Board Member of The Beacon Council.

Anthony graduated from Duke University with his Bachelor's Degree and earned his law degree from Vanderbilt University. He is also one of the few real estate development attorneys to hold a Master of Laws degree from the University of Miami in Real Property Development.
